A couple years ago, I got rid of my bagged vacuum in favor of a bagless model because I thought it would save me the cost and trouble of having to buy and replace bags. I was wrong. I have hated that bagless since I bought it. The bagless is very messy to clean. When you empty the dirt container, dirt and dust goes everywhere. The upper compartment and the multiple filters also need to be cleaned often. I have a cat and the cat hair was difficult to clean out due to static electricity. So, I gave away my perfectly usable Bissell bagless and I am back to a bagged cleaner, and I couldn't be happier.

The Hoover U5491900 Windtunnel Anniversary Bagged Upright is a very good vacuum, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. It's not particularly heavier nor noisier than any other quality upright. It has great suction, edge cleaners, and the tools are easily accessible. There's a small amount of assembly which takes only about 5 minutes. The hose is a bit short, but it does come with two extension wands. You can also purchase a longer hose separately. My only complaint is the way the electrical cord gets in the way of the hose when you clip it to the recommended hook on the back.

I did have a bit of trouble with delivery, though not the fault of Amazon. The first vacuum arrived with a broken part, and Amazon quickly sent a replacement at no charge. The second arrived in a box that was in terrible condition. I expected the worst, but the vacuum was in good condition so I kept it, despite the fact that it appeared to have been repackaged. Some parts were not securely packed and the electrical cord was not neatly wound and tied.
