I have had my Roomba for about a year now. My husband got it for me as a birthday gift last year. I have two large dogs and a cat, so the hair in my house was out of control. The Roomba now saves me tons of time in cleaning. We have laminate floors, area rugs and tile. The Roomba does well on all of them, but cleans tile only so-so. I empty the Roomba every other day. This takes about a minute, way less time than I would spend sweeping and vacuuming myself. It has the scheduler so it does all of the cleaning while we are at work. It is nice to come home to a clean house! We purchased our Roomba from Bed Bath and Beyond for $379.
